Jurassic Park

This environment is a re-creation of the area where Dennis Nedry died in the movie.  I used extensive reference from the film to determine the layout. Unable to visit Costa Rica to get texture reference I went to Golden Gate and other parks in the bay area.  In about 3 days I had collected over 300 pictures that could be used to define the visual landscape for the game. 

All environments had a modeling budget of 30,000 verts so I had to keep the foliage low in poly count while keeping them realistic and cinematic.  To do this I used camera-facing flats for background elements and layered in the foliage with increased level of detail for the foreground elements. I did all the modeling, texturing and lighting of the environment.
