Monkey Island is a classic franchise full of color. As a team we looked at concept art from Disney and the original games for inspiration. Working on this title I was able to experiment with color and lighting. This helped me understand how important the two elements are when adding mood and artistic style to a cinematic experience.
This was the first environment for the game I created from start to finish. I modeled and textured all the assets based on concept art. The sky cloud texture was made by an illustrator and the water movement was done by a VFX Artist. Guybrush was made by a character artist. I completed the final polish and lighting of the environment.
