Tales of Monkey Island

Monkey Island is a classic franchise full of color. As a team we looked at concept art from Disney and the original games for inspiration.  

Working on this title I was able to experiment with color and lighting.  This helped me understand how important the two elements are when adding mood and artistic style to a cinematic experience.  

I had 3 weeks to completed the final environment of the game from start to finish. Under pressure I used modular components to build out LeChuck's ship.  Once the layout was complete other departments could work on it and I could focus on the final lighting and texturing. While this environment was created very quickly it ended up being one of my favorites.  It was a super cool environment to make and an awesome way to conclude my work on the project.

For this environment I was responsible for all the artistic elements from start to finish.  The characters and flames were made by another artist.
